IN THE LINE OF FIRE: TORCH-FIRED ENAMELS
Using a torch, various methods of line creation and imagery within your enamel piece will be demonstrated. By applying successive layers of liquid, acrylic, transparent or opaque powdered enamels, techniques such as sgraffto, graphite, sifting, frescale, acid-etching, painting, and more, will be covered. Additionally, under/maturity/& over-fring are utilized in building and preserving drawings and layers in the fnal piece. Cold-connection and minimal soldering options for your piece(s) can be discussed, time allowing.

Anne Havel received her BBA in accounting from Baruch College in 1980 and became a CPA in 1981. Abandoning the corporate world in 2001, she has now been an independent studio artist for 16 years, teaching workshops and exhibiting in juried fine craft shows.

Learn to create a layered, dimensional fine silver metal clay ring sized to fit. Featuring the complete Die Cut Tool method, techniques for contouring and altering design elements, predictive ring construction methods to compensate for shrinkage of the clay during firing, best refinement practices and metal finishing.

Stone Setting Masterclass
This workshop will walk you through creating a unique, customized fine silver metal clay stone setting for a non-fireable stone. Learn Wanaree’s method to design and construct a metal clay setting that will shrink down to fit a cut stone after firing! Featuring the complete Die Cut Tool method, layering elements to create unusual bezel settings, predictive construction methods to compensate for firing shrinkage, how to create a “high profile” illusion out of a “low profile” stone, best refinement practices, stone setting method for fired metal clay, and metal finishing.
